Telangana conducted 44,431 COVID test ever since pandemic broke

Of the total samples tested, 5,406 have turned out positive for COVID. Telangana, in comparison with other states, stands at the bottom in total number of COVID tests conducted.
For another straight day, the state reported spurt in new COVID cases. In the last 24 hours, Four have succumbed to the virus and 213 tested positive. Hyderabad continues to be the hotspot, with 165 new cases, followed by Ranga Reddy.
Meanwhile, following the directions issued by the Telangana Chief Minister K ChandraShekar Rao, the health officials kick started mass testing across various assembly constituencies in Telangana. In a single day, 1251 suspects were tested of which 213 showed positive.
The government targets at conducting 50,000 tests in the next 10 days. But, it is pertinent to mention that the state is way behind its counterpart Andhra Pradesh whose testing crossed 5 lakh.
Around 50 percent of COVID deaths in Telangana were 50 to 69 YO
Around 50 percent of people who died due to COVD 19 were in the age group of 50 to 69 years in Telangana state, a new data has revealed.
Around 187 people have died due to COVID 19 in the state so far. Analysis of 117 deaths reveals that most of the deceased were in the age group of 50 to 69 years.
Breakdown of the data reveals that 25 percent (30 people) of the deceased were in their 50s. Further, 23 percent of the dead were in the age group of 60-69 years. 22 percent of deceased were in their 70s while 13 percent were in their 40s. Seven percent of the deceased was in the 30s, while 5 percent were in their 80s.
