Telangana conducts 5L COVID tests in 155 days, 69K test positive

It took 155 days to test 5 lakh samples in the state. The first positive COVID case in the state was reported on March 2.
Till Monday evening, the state conducted 5,01,025 tests. On Sunday 13,787 samples were tested of which 919 reports are still awaited.
According to the medical bulletin, Telengana reported 1286 positive cases on Monday taking the overall tally to 68,946.
Twelve people succumbed to the infection taking the overall death toll to 563. The fatality rate of Telangana is 0.81% which is lower than the national average of 2.11%.
Around 1,066 people have recovered. The recovery rate in the state stands at 72% which is higher than the national average of 65.77%.
Till August 3, Telangana has 18,708 active COVID cases. The bulletin also mentioned that of the 11935 people under home isolation, 84% are asymptomatic.
Out of total fatalities, 46.13 percent people died of COVID infection, while 53.87 percent died due to comorbidities.
Bed vacancies:
The state currently has 17,867 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,564 regular beds, 4,423 oxygen beds and 1,180 ICU beds are lying vacant.
The total number of ventilators in the state stands at 1,117.
