Telangana reports five COVID-19 deaths in one day

Hyderabad: Five COVID-19 patients died on 21 May in Telangana, taking the death toll in the state to 45, according to the latest medical bulletin of the state health ministry. Two patients had died on 20 May. The rise in COVID-19 deaths come at a time when the state government has been drawing flak for the state's low test rates.
Meanwhile, 38 people tested positive on Thursday. The total number of positive cases reported in Telangana stands at 1,699, of which 1,036 patients have recovered and been discharged. The state now has 618 active cases.
On Thursday, a father-son duo, resident of Hyderabad's Rainbow Vista Apartment, tested positive for COVID-19. The two were initially admitted to Chest Hospital with fever-like symptoms and later admitted to Gandhi Hospital.
