Telangana to conduct 40,000 COVID test per day, built robust health care

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to amplify COVID testing capacity in the state to 40,000 test per day. Besides this, the government announced to ensure the availability anti-viral drugs such as Remdesivir, Low Molecular weight Heparin, Dexamethasone injections, Favipiravir tablets, other medicines, PPE Kits, test Kits in lakh in numbers.
The Telangana Cabinet held a marathon meeting with health experts at Pragathi Bhavan on 5th of August. āCOVID cases are on a decline in Hyderabad. The state's death rate is low and the rate of those recovering is more. Hence, there is no need for the people to feel anxious,ā the medical experts opinioned.
Cabinet ministers urged citizens to prefer government hospitals over private. "Government hospitals are equipped with all facilities, medicines, doctors. The government is ready to spend any amount of money to ensure medicines, equipment and facilities in hospitals' a statement from the Chief Minister's office said.
COVID 19: 50,814 recovered in Telangana, 2012 new cases
Telangana reported 2,012 new COVID 19 positive cases on Tuesday taking the overall tally to 70,958 in the state.
Around 50,084 COVID patients have recovered so far. On Tuesday, 1139 patients recovered. The state has 19,568 active COVID cases. The recovery rate in the state is 71.6%, which is higher than the national average of 66.31%.
Thirteen patients succumbed to the virus taking the overall death toll to 576. The fatality rate of Telangana is 0.81% which is lower than the national average of 2.11%.

A total of 21,118 samples were tested, of which reports of 1,167 are awaited.
