Thodari pair Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh is back
By Pranita Jonnalagedda Published on 24 Jan 2020 4:29 AM GMTHyderabad: Dhanush is one of the busiest actors in recent times and he is on a film-signing spree for the last couple of years. In 2019, he had three releases in the form of The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, Vetri Maaran's Asuran and Gautham Menon's Enai Noki Paayum Thota. As he enjoyed the success of Asuran, he quickly moved on to his next projects which are at various stages of production. Now, it looks like the actor has signed three more films which will keep him busy for the next couple of years.
If reports are anything to go by, Dhanush will essay the lead role in the remake of his father-in-law Rajinikanth's blockbuster hit Netrikann, which had released in 1981. Reportedly, Dhanush has expressed his interest to remake Netrikann as it is his favourite film. He is keen on making the film and is doing everything in his might to get the film rolling. An interesting update is that the film could have Keerthy Suresh playing the female lead. Her mother, Menaka, was a part of the yesteryear hit Netrikann as Rajinikanth's pair.
A source close to the team revealed that Dhanush will start working on the film when he completes his work on Mari Selvaraj's upcoming film Karnan. An official announcement regarding the Netrikann remake will be out in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Dhanush is waiting for the release of D40, which is currently in post-production stage. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film, which is touted to be a gangster thriller, will release sometime in summer 2020. The makers said in a statement that the film's title will be announced sometime in February.
Dhanush also has a film with Ratsasan director Ram Kumar, which is rumoured to be a fantasy action drama.
