Tribal minister Satyavathi Rathod orders probe against TRS MLA’s son after woman alleges threat to life
By Newsmeter Network Published on 26 May 2020 4:00 AM GMTHyderabad: Tribal, Women and Child Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod has ordered an inquiry after a son of TRS MLA from Kothagudem Vanama Venkateswara Rao, allegedly attacked a tribal woman for fighting against the land grabbers.
The woman approached Satyavathi Rathod and alleged that MLA’s son Raghava and his associates attacked her some days ago. She urged him to take strict action against them. The minister ordered an inquiry into the incident and asked for a detailed report.
The woman informed the minister that she had been fighting against the land grabbing activities of the MLA, his son, and their associates. Ten days ago, when she was returning home, a group of more than ten persons armed with sticks and other weapons attacked her. Though she cried for help, nobody came to her rescue. She said she was severely injured and was hospitalized for more than a week.
Though she has been discharged from the hospital, she informed that she is facing a threat from Raghava and his men. She also demanded a fair investigation and arrest of the attackers.
Meanwhile, Kothagudem district police officials informed media that a case has already been registered and three persons have been arrested. The investigation is underway.
