- No such proposal, reassures TTD Chairman
Tirupati: The abode of Lord Venkateshwara situated atop the seven hills of Tirumala is amongst the most patronised and richest religious structures in the world.
In keeping with its exalted status, its laddu prasadam, more popular as Tirupati laddu or Srivari Laddu, is famed across the globe. Devotees crave for the laddus as they are thought to be the direct blessings of the Lord. Its taste is so unique that none can hope to recreate the magic even if they followed the same recipe.
The governing body, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) distributes around four lakh laddus, under various categories, every day. The prices range from Rs 10 to 25 per laddu and those wishing to buy extra laddus, have to part with Rs 50 for each of them.
Recently, after the formation of the new government in Andhra Pradesh, the TTD committee was completely revamped. The panel introduced several administrative changes. Media reports came soon after that TTD was proposing to enhance the price from Rs 25 to Rs 50.

Some even mention that as the TTD chairman Mr. YV Subba Reddy is a Christian, he is looting money of Hindus.
Fact Check: As Newsmeter team searched for the laddu price hike, we were not able to find any official announcement by TTD about such a proposal. Mr Subba Reddy rubbished the reports as hearsay and assured categorically that TTD was not even contemplating such a move. Mr Reddy tweeted the clarification on Sunday to put an end to the false reports, once and for all.
There are no reports in the main stream media too.
Therefore, the above claim is FALSE.
