Two more cases of coronavirus in India, Telangana man tested positive
By Newsmeter Network Published on 2 March 2020 11:01 AM GMTHyderabad: In a fresh update, the Health Ministry confirmed that two new Coronavirus cases has been detected in India. One positive case is from Delhi, while the other is from Telangana.
Union Health minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan in a press briefing said that the Delhi case has a travel history from Italy and while the suspected patient from Telangana has a travel history from Dubai. The two new cases makes total positive in India to five.
The patient who tested positive for coronavirus in Telangana has been kept in an isolation ward in Gandhi Hospital. Blood samples of the patient has been sent to Pune Centre.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan said, ā25,738 persons are under community surveillance of IDSP network. As many as 5,57,257 passengers have been screened. 15 labs are operational for testing samples. We are keeping a keen watch on the evolving global scenario, and are in touch with concerned ministries for necessary timely measures. Pharmaceutical resources are adequately available too.ā
Sunitha Krishnan, social activist and founder of āPrajwalaā is also admitted in a Gandhi Hospital and is suspected to be infected with corona virus. She has a travel history from Bangkok.
