Vasavi GP Trends building fined Rs. 1L for draining cellar water on road

Hyderabad: The Gachibowli traffic police issued an advisory on 29 September warning people against draining water from their cellar on to the streets.

This comes after several daily commuters complained that Vasavi GP Trends building was draining water from its cellar on the ORR service road at Hanuman temple in Nanakramguda. The water was flowing on to the ORR service road, inconveniencing the commuters.

The traffic police and the HGCL authorities had earlier visited the place and warned the Vasavi building management but it did not heed their suggestions and continued to drain water onto the road, hindering traffic. This could lead to road accidents, the traffic police warned.

Following this, the traffic police filed a requisition letter to the GHMC authorities in Serilingampally seeking action against the building owner. The GHMC visited the Vasavi GP Trends building on 29 September and imposed a fine of Rs. 1 lakh against the building owner Sudhakar Reddy under section 674 of the GHMC Act.

Meanwhile, the Gachibowli traffic police advised people not to drain water on the roads and warned that strict action would be taken against the offenders. People can inform the Cyberabad traffic police of such offenses through Whats app (9490617346) or by phone (+918500411111) or on social media
