Vijay Sethupathi to play villain in Varun Tej's 'Boxer'?

However, it is unclear whether he has signed the project and the filmmakers are yet to make an official announcement. If he joins the cast of 'Boxer, then this will be Sethupathi's fourth Telugu movie.
Sethupathi is one of the most celebrated actors in Kollywood who enjoys a loyal fan following across the world. The actor who stuck to Tamil for nearly seven years recently stepped into Tollywood with a brief role in Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy'. In the film, he essayed the role of Raja Paandi, an ally of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Post the success of 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy', he was flooded with offers from several directors.
Directed by Kiran Korrapati, Boxer is jointly produced by Allu Venkatesh and Siddhu Mudda. Varun Tej has been hitting the gym quite regularly to get in shape to play the role of a boxer. Further, he took professional training in the sport to play his part with conviction.
Earlier, it was reported that Sethupathi has been finalised as the villain in Allu Arjun's upcoming film with director Sukumar. Reportedly, the Tamil actor had demanded a huge sum of Rs 1.5 crore. This is considered a big sum for an actor who is only a few films old in Telugu.
Meanwhile, the actor is already shooting for his second Telugu film, 'Uppena'. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film marks the debut of Chiranjeevi's nephew Panja Vaisshnav Tej. The film, which is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, will release on April 2, 2020.
