Woman dies of swine flu after giving birth to child

Hyderabad: A woman suspected to have been suffering from swine flu died after giving birth to a child at Gandhi hospital of Secunderabad in the early hours of Monday.
Identified as Shahnaz, she hailed from Bisugir Shairf village of Jammikunta Mandal in Karimnagar district.
When she was pregnant with her second child, she was diagnosed with symptoms of H1N1 influenza.
After undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Jammikunta, she was shifted to Warangal for specialized treatment. However her condition deteriorated.
Doctors later informed her family members and it was decided to go for surgery to save her child.
Sources said the child is safe. The woman breathed her last on Monday morning. A detailed investigation into the symptoms and the cause of the death has begun.
