Hyderabad: The Sainikpuri area of Secunderabad has food lovers spoilt for choice. The latest on the block of deliciousness is the Asian Pavilion at Vayupuri. The cloud kitchen was started by Nivedita five years ago. Now with Asian Pavilion, she has partnered with Apoorva Marur, who has given a new identity to the venture with the food offering.

One can embark on a culinary journey like no other with Asian Pavilion’s latest summer menu and indulge in an array of dishes inspired by the vibrant flavours of Asia, meticulously crafted to transport you to far-off lands with each bite.

Celebrating Asian traditions

From delectable rolls and succulent grills to mouth-watering starters, the menu promises an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates the rich diversity and culinary traditions of the Asian continent.

Nivedita says, “A passionate dream was brought to life after running a cloud kitchen for five years when we decided to take the plunge to reinvent ourselves as a part Asian food venture with an endeavour to host guests who love food as much as we do. We are placed in the heart of Vayupuri, a small humble sit down restaurant serving Asian cuisine. We call ourselves Asian Pavilion, serving some fun and traditional Asian dishes like the Sri Lankan Maalu Rolls, the Vietnamese Summer rolls, Lebanese Zatar rolls, Pad Thai and a Burmese favourite Khow Suey and a whole lot of other dishes. It is open from Tuesday through Sunday for dinner service from 5 pm to 11 pm for dine-in and takeaway. We bring to you a passion, a dream and our love for food. Step into the vibrant realm of the Asian Pavilion, where our latest menu showcases culinary treasures from across the vast expanse of Asia. We’ve brought back a retro style of interactive menus.”

Simple and exquisite menu

Asian pavilion is a dine-in and a simple 25-seater semi-outdoor outfit. The best thing is that the restaurant immediately asks you if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions.

We started with a lime coconut mocktail, perfect for the warm summer evening and Maalu rolls (at Rs 150 plus tax) which encapsulated the essence of Lanka’s island living, featuring fresh Tilapia fish infused with spices, wrapped in a delicate crepe, and fried to crispy perfection. It was deliciously crisp on the outside and succulent inside.

The Banhtastic Summer Rolls (at Rs 270 plus tax) were delicately wrapped in rice paper sheets, with prawns, pickled carrots and radish, fragrant coriander, cucumbers and cauliflower that told a tale of traditional Vietnamese flavours. It was served with spicy coriander mayonnaise. The restaurant offers a choice of chicken and vegetarian Vietnamese rolls too.

Next was Spinach Borek, tender spinach and creamy feta cheese wrapped in delicate wonton sheets and served with a garlic yoghurt dip. It was a journey back in time to the street food of Istanbul and priced at Rs 250 plus tax.

The TLBC Skewers from Chiang Mai showcased the unique marinade of basil and lemongrass, with a choice of tender cubes of paneer, chicken or Tilapia fish, marinated in a fragrant blend of Thai basil, lemongrass, and exotic spices. The Chicken TLBC was tender with an explosion of Thai flavours and reasonably priced at Rs 285 plus taxes.

The Pol Sambol Crunch from the streets of Colombo was a medley of coconut, chilli, lime and chicken and a real flavour bomb. The star of the evening was the Balinese Green Bean and Coconut Salad (at Rs 210 plus tax) with the freshest ingredients and delicate flavours.

The Lebanese-inspired Lamb Shish Barak Bowl (at Rs 290 plus taxes) was extraordinary. Tender parcels of dough, filled with spiced lamb in yoghurt sauce were a great dish for a summer evening.

The prawn Pad Thai noodles had authentic sweet, sour and savoury Thai flavours.

The shrimp Maalu Kirata and steamed rice bowl (Rs 275 plus tax) were a hit at our table. It was Sri Lankan cuisine at its finest.

The filter coffee chocolate mousse came in when everyone thought they couldn’t eat another bite. But then we all did and loved the dessert.
