Hyderabad: Hyderabad’s dining scene is shifting in a clear direction, with restaurants that double as destinations.
Places where the ambience is as intentional as the food, and the experience gently nudges you to linger. If you’re planning your weekend stops, here are three new picks that offer more than just a meal.
Huts & Hive, Kompally
For a calm, scenic dinner away from the city pace
If you want to escape Hyderabad without leaving it, Huts & Hive is an easy pick. Hidden in the quieter parts of Kompally, this 2.5-acre property works as a restaurant, performance zone, and hangout space all in one. The parking itself spans 1.5 acres, giving the place a resort-like first impression.
Why you should go
• Choose your zone: indoor seating, semi-outdoor spaces, a coffee corner, hut-style cabanas around a koi pond, an underground stage, and a pet-friendly lawn.
• Daily programming: open mics, live music, workshops, there’s usually something happening.
What to try
Start with a Cappuccino if you prefer a slow, warm beginning. Follow it with the Mushroom bao, spongy, earthy, served with chilli oil and a bhut jolokia dip. If you love spice, the dips alone make them worth ordering.
The Spicy shrimp blast is a strong choice for seafood lovers, juicy, chilli-forward, and inspired by Singaporean flavours. For something heartier, the Molten cheese chicken delivers on crunch and cheese pull.
End on something sweet
The Hazelnut chocolate mousse comes with a date-hazelnut praline base, while the tiramisu is made with in-house ladyfingers. If you prefer a light cocktail, the Dirty lemonade is citrusy with a chilli-salt rim.
Cost: Approx. Rs 2,000 for two.
Location: At Kompally
Burgrill, Kukatpally
For quick, filling comfort food with a side of warmth
Burgrill’s latest outlet has become a popular stop for burger runs, and the first thing you’ll notice is the all-women crew, welcoming, efficient, and ready with suggestions.
Where to begin
The Chicken Quarter Pounder keeps it straightforward: crisp onions, gooey cheese, and a tangy red sauce inside soft brown buns. If you want something richer, the Smash lamb cheeseburger is the highlight, with double patties, sesame brioche, pickles, and chilli oil mayo.
For sides and something lighter
The African peri peri loaded fries come crinkle-cut with sauces on top, but still stay firm.
If you want to balance out the meal, the Meaty Mighty salad mixes lettuce, cucumbers, and veggies with Burgrill’s signature creamy-tangy OG sauce.
A quick dessert stop
The Custard puffins are served hot with strawberry purée and tend to disappear fast. Wrap up with their Belgian chocolate coffee, more milkshake than cold brew, served in a reusable bottle.
Cost: Approx. Rs 400 for two.
Location: At Kukatpally.
Studio XO x Stone Waters, Financial District
For an evening that feels part-restaurant, part-showroom
This collaboration between Studio XO and Stone Waters is built for those who enjoy atmosphere. The black stone entrance opens into a dimly lit space with a bar, red-and-black interiors, and a stage for music and performances.
What stands out
• Art-led design: bold paintings and colour play across the walls.
• Live programming: the stage is set up for music, stand-up, or curated events.
• Thoughtful layout: seating is comfortable and spaced to let you stay longer.
What to order
Begin with the Mountain bridge, refreshing and simple.
The Dahi ke kebabs arrive coated in charcoal, offering a new way to try this classic.
For something interactive, the Cheesy BBQ paneer espetada is served on a tall stand with layers of marinated paneer.
If you want a snack-style plate, the Bombay pav bhaji bites are well-presented and easy to share.
From the pan-Asian section, the Gourmet trails dim sum carry a spicy vegetable filling. If you prefer North Indian mains, the Purani Dilli butter chicken with rice makes for a satisfying move toward the end.
Round it off with the Lotus Biscoff cheesecake.
Cost: Approx. Rs 1,200 for two.
Location: At the Financial District.
