Mutton Shorba to Formaggio Veg Cigar: Tease your taste buds at Hyderabad’s Akan

Hyderabad: Akan, a recent entrant to Hyderabad's culinary scene, draws inspiration from Mayan mythology as the 'god of intoxication.' This massive restaurant, with a capacity for 1,000 patrons, promises an enchanting blend of ambiance, tastes, and visual appeal.

The design concept seamlessly merges ancient elegance with contemporary luxury, featuring Rajasthani sandstone arches and natural granite adorned with Mayan symbols. The earthy hues and geometric patterns create an inviting yet majestic atmosphere.

The highlight is the celestial ceiling that transforms into a glowing firmament at night, mimicking the intricate design of a Mayan calendar. The menu spans continents, celebrating Mexican, Indian, Pan Asian, Sushi, Maharashtrian, Kashmiri, and Italian cuisines, deliberately omitting Telugu influences.

The culinary journey begins with the Mutton Shorba, paving the way for the Formaggio Veg Cigar, a mushroom concoction, and the succulent Meat Roll. The Green Harvest Risotto offers a lighter option, complementing the diverse menu. Akan's allure extends to a serene lake view, enhancing the dining experience beyond mere sustenance.

The Lahori Mutton in a creamy sauce of pasta, almonds, and kaju stands out in the main course, delivering symmetrical perfection. Concluding on a high note, the Chocolate of the Gods dessert provides a heavenly finale to the gastronomic journey with its coconut crust and an assortment of dry fruits.
