Hyderabad: Tucked into the leafy lanes of Gunrock, a new café is drawing attention not just for its all-vegetarian take on pan-Asian cuisine, but for the way it brings together food, music and retro design. Ta.Ma.Sha – Asian Veg Café is the newest entrant in Hyderabad’s growing café culture, but it’s carving its own path by offering more than just a meal.
With a tagline that leans into “food, fun, and feel-good nostalgia,” Ta.Ma.Sha is both a dining space and a mood – a nod to the slow café movement, but with a distinctly Asian vegetarian twist.
The All-Veg, All-Asian Menu
At a time when plant-based trends are on the rise, Ta.Ma.Sha stands out by offering a fully vegetarian spread inspired by the street foods and comfort dishes of Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, and beyond. The menu is rooted in current global food trends but adapted for Indian sensibilities.

Signature dishes include the Korean Chilli Tofu, with just the right balance of sweet and spice, paired with a crunchy carrot-onion salad, and the Korean Paneer, which reimagines popular Korean flavours with a cottage cheese base. The Green Thai Curry is soothing and simple, while the Japanese Cottage Cheese Katsu offers a satisfying crunch and a hearty twist on the traditional pork cutlet.

There’s also a strong leaning towards playful reinterpretations — like the Kimchi Pizza, which pairs sharp fermented flavour with a gooey cheese base, and the more classic Veggie Thin-Crust Pizza, generous with toppings and crowd-friendly.

Drinks are light and summer-forward. The Rose Cooler and Cucumber Fizz are refreshing options for Hyderabad’s heat, and the dessert menu hits both indulgent and traditional notes — from the Thai Mango Sticky Rice to a retro-fun Ice Cream Bun Sandwich drizzled with chocolate.

For diners with dietary restrictions, a separate Jain menu is available, offering carefully adapted versions of key dishes.

A Space That Feels Like a Throwback
Step inside, and the first thing you’ll notice is the atmosphere. Vintage cameras, bamboo lights, old-school televisions, and weathered bookshelves create a space that feels rooted in memory, yet surprisingly fresh.

“We wanted to create a place that’s more than just a café – something that speaks to the soul,” said AK Solanky, Co-founder of Ta.Ma.Sha. “It’s about celebrating great vegetarian food, live music, old-school aesthetics, and the joy of hanging out offline again.”
Music is a big part of the space’s identity. On selected evenings, live acoustic performances by local artists take the stage, with a large screen behind them playing nostalgic visuals that change with the mood.
There’s also a casual pickleball court tucked in, offering visitors a chance to stay, play, and linger long after the meal is done.
Built for Brunches, Content Creators, and Companion Animals
Ta.Ma.Sha’s hybrid design includes an open-air seating area and an indoor retro-themed lounge, allowing it to flex between quiet daytime reading dates and lively evening hangouts. Every corner is clearly curated with the modern guest in mind, offering plenty of ‘Instagrammable’ backdrops without feeling forced.

Importantly, the space is pet-friendly and welcomes guests with their furry companions, making it a draw for animal lovers as well.
A Café With a Community Heart
“Our vision with Ta.Ma.Sha was to bring together all the things we love — delicious Asian vegetarian food, great music, and a space that sparks creativity and connection,” said Mahender Vyas, Founder of Ta.Ma.Sha. “We wanted to craft an experience that feels both nostalgic and new, where every visit is memorable.”
In an area known more for fast food and quiet residential lanes, Ta.Ma.Sha brings something different — a café that invites you to stay, whether you’re a longtime vegetarian or simply looking to try something new.
Ta.Ma.Sha – Asian Veg Café is now open in Gunrock, Hyderabad. With its blend of unique vegetarian cuisine, warm design, and music-infused ambience, it adds a thoughtful, slow-living experience to the city’s café scene.
