Students across 25 universities in India protest against CAA

The students’ protest that emerged from Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi, where the police is alleged of entered the varsity and and attacked students protesting inside the campus. The incident created a chain reactions, sparking protests in various varsities throughout India against the CAA and in support of Jamia students.
Nation witnessed students from 25 universities across the country staging protests. Here’s the list of universities that joined the agitation against the Citizenship Amendment Act, in support of Jamia Millia Islamia students.
Students Maulana Azad Urdu University (MANUU), Osmania University (OU) and Hyderabad Central University (HCU) took to the streets to protest the controversial CAA. They also pledged solidarity with the JMI students and severely criticised the Delhi police for their attacks on students.
Protests first erupted in the North East after both houses of the Parliament passed the Citizenship Amendment Bill. The central government imposed a curfew in parts of the North East, such as Guwahati, and an internet shut down in Shillong.
